The best, most entertaining, more productive way for Gabriel and I to "play" a game together is for me to just sit next to him on the couch. That's more or less the ethos of the site anyway, it's represented by an incalculable (that is to say, deeply and profoundly calculable) number of strips where we do just that. I have a lot of valuable opinions on when he should jump and he shouldn't be deprived of that. A lot of it depends on the game. I feel like this is basically how it would go.
That assumes, of course, that it worked in a way that would enable it. I would play way more Dying Light 2 solo if it fucking worked. I'm not trying to don the mantle of the take merchant; I don't want to contribute to the take economy. I just want to talk for a second about what sixty bucks apparently buys you now.
I was excited to progress in this cool city I'd gotten to, I clicked on the game, and then I started thinking about something else. I thought about shit for a while, and then I thought, you know what, I should progress in that cool city I'd gotten to. But then, I was like… wait! I was already going to do that! I did already do that. It crashed to desktop without first going to the game, which to my mind reflects the dizzy heights of pragmatism, a laudable insistence on efficiency. I ran it again, this time entering the sacred realm of the software itself, only to have it crash after I hit Continue. I've already played it three hours, because I thought it was cool, and if I had only played it one hour less I could return it.
There's an upcoming patch that's supposed to fix a few things, but right below that list is a bunch of other broken shit they haven't gotten to yet - and two items are given over to various progression blocks. That's not really a leisure activity anymore; that's building a garage sale puzzle with an unknown number of pieces missing.
(CW)TB out.
