Judging from the Twunts and Mails I've gotten, the new site is accomplishing many of its more esoteric goals, aside from simply being mobile-first and possessed of high utility broadly. The secret objective, only now revealed at the end of the game to win the whole thing, was to make the archive a fun toy that inspired people to explore it and have fun. Comic Remix Does that with aplomb, and new features (like being able to see each panel's parent comic) are on the docket. Feeling Nostalgic has, indeed, made some nostalgic enough to burn a considerable amount of time back there, and having the post right below inspires people to dig back into these previous eras. I have other ideas specifically around this that keep me up at night. We'll see if any of them hatch.

The last two days have seen profound improvements behind the curtain, but a particular one is worth noting especially: we had someone contact us about a physical response to the flash on the mouseover, and Gavin was able to fix the CSS to deliver more muted effects to those who need or simply want them. The site now checks for an OS level flag related to animations you might be interested in just, like, generally! Here's how to activate that flag on just about everything:

• In GTK/GNOME: GNOME Tweaks > General tab (or Appearance, depending on version) > Animations is turned off. Alternatively, add gtk-enable-animations = false to the [Settings] block of the GTK 3 configuration file.
• In Plasma/KDE: System Settings > Workspace Behavior -> General Behavior > "Animation speed" is set all the way to right to "Instant".
• In Windows 10: Settings > Ease of Access > Display > Show animations in Windows.
• In Windows 11: Settings > Accessibility > Visual Effects > Animation Effects
• In Windows 7: Control Panel > Ease of Access > Make the computer easier to see > Turn off all unnecessary animations (when possible).
• In macOS: System Preferences > Accessibility > Display > Reduce motion.
• In iOS: Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion.
• In Android 9+: Settings > Accessibility > Remove animations.

That will inform our CSS to give you a much more gentle version.
