Apparently yesterday was the true anniversary of Acquisitions Incorporated, an imaginary company that provides imaginary services to an imaginary universe, and yet somehow that has not stopped it from being something a lot of people care about. You might be one of those people! Here is a celebration of said date, which folds within it the promise of more.
A long time ago we collaborated with a two-man team called Zeboyd Games to do the last two installments in our On The Rain-Slick Precipice Of Darkness" series. I was talking with one of their number a couple weeks ago, and we thought it would be cool to make those two games free forever. My fantasy scenario for making Precipice 3 and Precipice 4 free involved a couple things. One, it involves me wanting more people to play them. Making things free is cool and fun. They were already pretty cheap, executions in the Labor of Love genre really, but they both are reviewed Very Positive on Steam which is kind of tricky to pull off at any scale. So, that's the first one. I wrote my ass off on those, and I still go back to look at some of the item descriptions.
The second is that I hope such actions put people in the path of their other games - Zeboyd made a ton of classic RPGs, back in the XBLIG era, and they might be a lot of fun for a weekend - but they have a brand new RPG called "This Way Madness Lies," which is an RPG about Shakespearean heroines as magical girls. I think we can all agree that such creatures are precious, and must be allowed to live.
(CW)TB out.
