I think that Space Marine 2 is very good, in an obvious way that should be apparent to all! But it might just be that everybody has "their Space Marine" or Space Marine Equivalent Product (SMEP). Ryan has a soft spot for Marvel, and even after The Book of Boba Fett Gabe simply has no natural defense against Star Wars! He has repeatedly taken to the site to defend the virtue of Star Wars Outlaws, but my immortal warrior eunuch dolls are a step too far?! Come now.
A couple updates to round out the post, and there's some big ones:
That's correct! Those of you who did not, perhaps, leap at the opportunity to back Clank! Legacy 2: Acquisitions Incorporated (deep breath) Darkest Magic when it was on the Kickstarters now have an opportunity to get in here at the end: by securing a tender pre-order. I would suggest you do so! Our first collaboration with Dire Wolf is considered one of the finest examples of the "Legacy" subgenre, which is really funny, because it wasn't going to be a Legacy game at all! It was going to be a Clank! Expansion, which they have an incredible track record of, but I was like "Have we considered Legacy?!" and I saw a man's soul leave his body. Obviously, they figured it out.
The second one takes all that and moves it forward. There's also support for Clank! Legacy 2 in their Game Room app, where (thanks to a Kickstarter stretch goal) Mike and I did a bunch of voice work for a feature we hope your group loves. Anyway, you can buy it!
I am perhaps the world's Biggest Fan of Blue Manchu, who did Card Hunter and Void Bastards, and I also really enjoy writing in the "western" cowboy patois, so when they asked me to write their follow up space western Wild Bastards, I was happy to say yes. Some people even like it! But it is very much itself, and not shy about it, so I can understand why a person might prefer the approach of Void Bastards (which is very cool, and very well written).
There really isn't anything quite like it; Shooter Roguelite maybe gets close, but it's got some crazy angles that set it apart. I tried to give each of the Thirteen Outlaws you can be as much of a unique voice as I could, and I haven't even had a chance to check it out with all the voice lines in. Let me know what you think!
(CW)TB out.
