I’m not the crazy Kickstarter that Tycho is. He kicks something new every day. I told him I just don’t have the patience to invest in something cool and then wait months or even a year for it to be real. In fact I’ve only ever kicked two things in my life. The first was 13th Age which I think is an incredibly cool new RPG setting. The second I just donated to this weekend. It’s a documentary called “that’s not funny”.
I love documentaries and this is one that I really want to see. If you watch the trailer you’ll see that it hits pretty close to home for me. It’s essentially a documentary about humor and specifically offensive humor. This is a topic that gets discussed a lot among the artists here at PA and my various creator friends. What can and can’t you make jokes about? Should anything be off limits? I find this stuff fascinating and I’d love nothing more than to see a bunch of comedians and writers I admire talking about the subject.
The director has expressed an interest in speaking with us for the film but I don’t know yet if that will happen. Our policy has been not to talk about the dickwolves stuff but it’s been more than a year now. It was pretty interesting and it certainly had a lasting effect on me, although I’m not sure it was the right effect. It’s something I need to think about.
But honestly it won’t matter if his movie doesn’t get funded. I’m not linking it because I want to be in it. Like I said I’m not even sure I want to talk about that stuff again. First and foremost I just want it to be made so I can watch it.
