New Strip Search
Contracts. yuck.
It’s no secret that Tycho and I have a bad history when it comes to contracts. The most famous one is probably when we thought we were signing a deal with a company called EFront for hosting and advertising, but actually signed away all the rights to the comic strip. We also lost our book rights after signing an especially bad contract. We spent a lot of time and a lot of money getting ourselves out of those deals and now we have Robert our personal business asshole to make sure we never do it again.
The reality is that there are a lot of people who are more than happy to take advantage of artists and you need to be on your guard. This challenge had some funny moments in it and we tried to make it entertaining but it's actually a super important lesson. I wish we had learned it when we were just starting out.
