School is completely shut down where Gabe lives; they've got a no-school situation and he's at home now being scourged by it.
My own larvae are in a different situation, where there is school but there is also fear. Elliot is Gen Z as fuck; I'm not gonna go into his commentary here, except to say that Gen Z is the serpent that gnaws at the roots of Yggdrasil. Ronia is now attending practices for a play that, at least on paper, is cancelled. It's pretty ballin' as a metaphor but maybe not a great time investment in the near term…? Brenna's sewing room is right above my office, I can hear its operation through the ceiling, and she's sewing costumes for the same show. So in a way they're both engaged, euphemistically, in a sort of extemporaneous play called Hope: The Show Must Go On.
This all coincided with getting home, so I was gonna be in the house last week anyway, and the main thing it's done in my hyperlocal context is put me in a place to do for my family what I actually want to do, what I'm driven to do, which is cook for them and take care of them. Sometimes they need to be tucked in to bed, but I say that the blanket is a tortilla, and then I have to put all the toppings on there and tuck it in real tight. That's mostly for Brenna though I'm sure that the kids would probably like it also. But I write this stuff for you and then I do my Club PA newsletter and then I go roast coffee and make yogurt and about two gallons of bolognese and try to find a dinner that uses up like three of the leftover things I have. I raid for fridge meats on the ragged edge of freshness until I hear the Zelda discovery sound.
We'll have streams off and on through the week, done from wherever - Gabe and I will do our Friday stream from his house, for example - but as a generality unless work literally needs to be done at the office we're telling people to do it from someplace else. Following the channel may be the most robust solution if you don't want to miss stuff. But one of the things I'm committing to is the next episode of Acquisitions Incorporated: The "C" Team, which features the same players but a new party of characters - plus, Anna Prosser's Evelyn Marthain in the mix. We'll get underway during our usual time, Wednesdays at 4pm PST.
(CW)TB out.
