Gabriel's youngest had never seen anything on the order of a Dave - let alone a Busters. These two primal forces juxtaposed obliterated his thirteen year old mind. Gabriel and I recalled our exposure to Chuck E. Cheese, which my mother called Charles Cheddar because... she's my mom, and all my novel predilections had to come from somewhere.
In any event, my memory of it includes the full sensorium. Ours was themed after a jungle, and it wound through a darkness punctuated by the chirps, growls, and bright eyes of its strange denizens. In what is perhaps an indictment of my psyche, or simply an index of the brutal, ineluctable efficiency of the unique trap they set for children, I can reach into any part of that memory and enhance it as though it were a quadrant. Sinistar, Gorf, the old vector Star Wars, Tron obviously... But also the pizza. At once dry and very, very wet, I can feel the industrial substrate of that material scraping my last baby teeth.
As I suggested before, we are at PAX! PAX East, specifically. Since the dark times, there's been a selection of the show merch available at the online store and I would be remiss if I didn't mention it. This year's theme and execution are on another level and I'm so excited for people to get their mitts on it. Oh! And thank you for funding our Kickstarter! I really appreciate it. No doubt some portion of that final push came from Ryan's promise of a "C" Team one shot if we did, and I have about a million ideas for it, in addition to one I'm actually gonna do. What's next for the Kickstarter is up to backers, really; there's no ceiling on the ambition and we have a robust schedule of improvements and zesty accoutrements for the true enthusiast as we go past the goal.
This isn't even the last big news for Acquisitions Incorporated this year, so keep an eye out - indeed, something may come out of the show itself. Alright, back to the mines. And by "mines," I mean the greatest gaming convention ever conceived.
(CW)TB out.
