I may not be on Twitter anymore but I’m still full of musings. Here’s what I would have written on there, if I was still on there.
I’m absolutely in love with my Steam Deck. Thanks to this Reddit thread I managed to get Need for Speed Unbound up and running decently on the Deck. I put close to 60 hours into this game on my PS5 and decided to start over on PC. I love being able to hunt down collectibles on the Steam Deck while watching a movie.
My eldest son Gabe is on break from Digipen for a few weeks and we have challenged ourselves to make and release a video game in that time. Somehow we managed to get our hands on the incredible Wheel Saint IP for our first real title!
We’ve both been plugging away on it for a couple weeks now and it’s been a lot of fun. We’re not making Baulder’s Gate 3 here but we should have something to show in another couple weeks.
I did post about this project over on my Instagram which I hadn't used in years. I have to say, so far the experience on the gram is significantly better than Tweeter. For some strange reason, even though I have about a 10th of the followers over there, my engagement is significantly better. Even though I’m done with Twitter, I’ll continue to use my gram to share art and works in progress.
I just keep influencing! I was sent the Speedpaint Mega Set 2.0 from The Army Painter.
First I want to thank the Army Painter folks, but then I have to say holy shit these paints kick ass! I used these on my Tyranids and I was blown away by how much gradiation and depth you can get from one coat of these Speed Paints. It’s hard to describe but the way this paint mixture pools and sticks to the model surface sort of naturally reproduces the effects of a normal paint layer and dark wash. I recommend you don’t use it with a wet pallet as they are already designed to be the exact right consistency. As a good Gen X’er I hate looking like a corporate spokesperson and certainly I don’t want it to appear as though I am simply saying nice things about expensive paints that were given to me for free. I legit love these paints you guys and I’m really impressed with the results. Everytime I take a photo of a mini I painted I regret it, but here’s a text I sent Jerry, Kiko and Eric after trying these out.
That’s all I got for now. Instead of posting tiny condensed versions of these thoughts on someone else's site I’ll be trying to post here more often. You know, on the website I made and own. Crazy I know.
