Lando Norris is like the rest of the F1 Pantheon, creatures of myth I only know about because of a show on Netflix. It's a fascinating show even if you aren't into racing - in fact, it's entirely possible you will catch this strange disease merely by watching a cool show. The other day when Gabriel was in his rig, actual real-life racer Lando Norris started streaming also, literally on the same course. It's the sort of comparison one might not actively seek out, juxtaposed thus with a demigod, but they're demigods! Whatcha gonna do.
Something novel about the VR rig is that it makes Mork a better racer. Wild, right? I can sorta see it; intuitive access to a whole realm of data that's made somewhat abstract on the screen probably helps in an environment where split-second reactions are - functionally speaking - the sport. But the same person in the same rig with the same level of experience, I'm talking about Mike here, can lose whole seconds off the time. A second might not be a lot of time in another context. In this one, people fuckin' jump up and down.
Two things, then I gotta go:
1. We did some experimental shit on the stream yesterday, and it was a blast: Black Remnant, a piquant combination of roleplaying and wargaming in the Battletech universe, was something I wanted to try out before PAX East and we did! You can see it here. It was Eric, Kiko, and myself, and even though I roleplay a lot I almost never do it with them. I think there's a ton of headroom in this.
2. KICKSTARTER! Pass it around! Almost there!
(CW)TB out.
