It sounds like he had a rough time of it, but now he's home playing Phantom Liberty and I think he's vomited the last of the leathery serpent eggs, he says "come up easy." My play would have been to avoid the entire causal chain. I guess if you do have to throw up a snake egg, its young charge squirming with new life, it's nice to hear the process is user friendly.
I was thinking about Singapore already because I'm going there next week, not for a long time, but I'm gonna spend a bunch of time in the airport with Kris Straub. We ended up using Singapore Air just to try and control costs, it's gotten gruesome on Qantas, but apparently it's the best airline in the world or something? And it's flying to one of the best airports in the world?
I've gotten quite good at the Australia trip though, I can more or less autopilot the whole thing, which is a nice skill to have around people who can't. But this new trip is backwards: the long part is first, and then there's a short - well, relatively short - jaunt from there to Melbourne. Reversing the spell in this way fills me with dread! Hopefully I will be able to store this additional dread in the enhanced legroom this carrier is so famous for.
I used to talk with a couple game devs at PAX shows from there, and they would try to teach me "Singlish" terms with sophisticated etymologies that required a lot of basic cultural education to even parse. I love the deep end, though. I'm always trying to be thrown directly in.
(CW)TB out.
