It is our great pleasure to know the crew from Extra Credits, and I have suggested to James over there that I am at his service; he's just given me an opportunity to prove it.
We spoke on the phone at length last week, as long as our respective schedules could possibly allow after failing to meet up for nearly a month. He told me he more or less wanted to dedicate a year of his life to creating a public conversation about what games are and what they can accomplish. Like, "move to Washington D.C. and become a citizen lobbyist" type stuff. Act as a catalyst to get grant funding moving toward electronic games that further this dialogue. It's a fairly clear evolution of that they do with their show, and it makes a lot of sense to me. If it makes sense to you also, you're in luck: they're crowdfunding the whole shebang here.
