Although my companion has the proven capacity to influence, because he essentially lives inside Gran Turismo 7 VR, I think the ergonomic aspects of the experience began to wear on his creaking skeleton - ravaged as it is by age. Maybe there simply wasn't time to grovel; it's also possible that his gaunt and ill-used frame can no longer assume the shameful positions commonly used in groveling and he resorted to the scoundrel's last redoubt - capitalism.
The aforementioned " rig" seems like it's some kind of Playseat/Logitech collab, with the monitor mounting rails removed because whatever strips we might have made about his frailty in the Virtual Realmz he doesn't race on monitors anymore. Part of it is purely experiential - obviously, being situated inside the car is superior to the abstraction of a monitor, even a substantial monitor with a generous curve. Ultimately, though, we're really talking about proprioception and the way we extend our awareness around us, which I've seen called "peripersonal space" as it relates to the cars we drive. Understanding the spatial position of the car relative to other cars is fundamental to the sport, and in VR acquiring it requires no thought of any kind. The information is just right there for your brain, in the exact format that it wants. And it shows in your times.
Now, for the same price, I might have put a 4070 in the streaming rig. But I think he doesn't share the same kind of bone-deep cultural affiliation with the PC.
Hey! We've been having a blast making our Battletech show BLACK REMNANT, which is an actual play show that uses the wargame as its combat resolution system. Since Eric (who runs the game) is gone this week, literally overseas, we're gonna take Tuesday afternoon's stream block from 12pm PST on and use it to do a crafting stream, where I'll try to give Eric some cool new opponents we can use in the game. I'll be joined by Kiko, who has a number of craft projects he could manifest, and what's more we'll also be joined by ThatBronzeGirl, a.k.a. our friend Jasmine Bhullar. Last time she was around, she was painting her BTS themed Tau Kill Team with a pearly, translucent purple. That's just to say I have no idea what she's bringing, and I'm not sure anyone on earth is qualified to guess.
(CW)TB out.
