I played a few hours of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and came away completely uninterested in playing anymore of it. It’s 100% totally a looter shooter and I’ve played my fair share of those, but this one feels like it showed up years late. I’ve spent countless hours in Destiny and the Division looting and shooting. In both of those instances the game almost becomes a part time job. Sucide Squad has some cool mechanics but I can see the loop and honestly if it was an original IP I might be interested. As it stands though I have no desire to be one of these fuckwits for 20 hours a week.
I liked the Suicide Squad movie and I don’t hate these characters but I don’t want to fucking BE this boomerang dude. I’m not going to invest my time in leveling up my Harley Quinn. That sounds crazy to me. It’s also hard not to imagine the next gen single player DC RPG we might have gotten had this game design not been foisted on the developers.
I’m playing a pretty ridiculous amount of Palworld these days. I have a server set up for Noah, Kara and myself. The three of us are having a great time hunting these Pals and building bases together. I have to say the game can be pretty rough occasionally especially when playing online with other people, but in spite of all the bugs we keep logging back in. It’s funny because Suicide Squad is a game that oozes polish. I cannot deny that Kill the Justice League is a great looking game that ran well and felt complete. I just have no desire to play it. Palworld on the other hand can be a buggy mess at times and feels like it’s missing all sorts of necessary features but we can’t stop playing it. Go figure.
I’m also playing a lot of Granblue Fantasy: Relink. The game is in early release on PS5 and so far I have not managed to get the multiplayer to work but I have been cruising through the single player campaign and really enjoying it. The art in this game is so fucking good I want to eat it with a knife and fork. I keep pausing just to admire the character models and environments. It also does something really smart that I wish more games did. You can skip every cutscene and are given a brief written synopsis of what transpired when you do so! The combat in Granblue is a blast but it’s heavy on long winded cutscenes. Thankfully I can skip right through them and not lose the gist of the story. I’m hoping for a day one patch tomorrow that solves my multiplayer issues because playing this cooperatively sounds awesome.
I’m still plugging away on stickers. Kara and I delivered another 100 of the January sticker pack to the PA office on Monday. Those should become available soon along with our February pack. Thank you again for your incredible support of our sticker endeavors!
