Was I able to get Gabe to draw a Neurotyrant? Yes. Time was, this would have been a fraught proposition - but these days he has tons of Adeptus Astartes and Death Guard and Tyranids and Tau and all kindsa shit going on over there. A lot of it is even painted! I know, right? Wow. But also, I'm not sure we've had a Warhammer game that looked this good, which can't possibly hurt:
Apparently the build that got leaked will be a year old by the time the game launches. Waiting until launch instead of playing ancient code for a game they already delayed and then canceled the beta for is probably the safe bet. My primary interest is in the co-op campaign, a feature which often launches goofy under the best circumstances. I feel like warez is a young man's game. I haven't fucked with that shit in a really, really long time. Is it just, like, BitTorrent? Do you gotta torrent a bit? Is there such a thing as a LimeWire? Oh, apparently there is - and it's some kind of Web3 AI shitcoin? Wow, that's fun and cool.
Space Marines are canonically broken into Chapters, autonomous groups of warrior-eunuchs with their own internal cultures and often external rivalries, even with other Chapters. Purely from a lore dork perspective, the Chapter you see in the various trailers for the game are called Ultramarines, not because they are blue but because they hail from Ultramar. Obviously. Don't get it twisted! They're simultaneously the most recognizable and the most memed of the bunch, referred to as Smurfs, this time because they are blue. They have a reputation for being by the book, goody-two-shoes schoolboys but there have been occasional attempts to redeem them. The best attempt in my opinion is called Know No Fear by Dan Abnett, who has written most of my favorite books in the setting, but not all. It uses a couple really interesting techniques that typically conspire to create momentum and seize the mind. I think I've read it five or so times.
(CW)TB out.
