Gorbiriel is back to his old haunts, apparently haunting them himself. Although since he plays with Kara, my guess is nothing like this occurred unless it was something they already worked out between them. I don't know, I'm just throwing it out: her character is a night elf, and she's never been to Ironforge before? This is already weird enough to stop doing it.
I actually did go back to the game once, years ago, for all the reasons recidivism might normally take hold. There are huge portions of Azeroth that aren't filed in my mind as virtual places at all - they have ambient temperatures, and… smells, I can return to them in my mind and the full sensorium is present. But I can't play World of Warcraft, or any other MMO at all anymore. We were talking about reward pathways the other day, and one of the reasons I use the term has to do with the fact that an attempt to adopt these mental patterns again resulted in them finding no purchase of any kind. I'm not saying this is good or bad, I'm saying it is strange. I felt nothing. I saw the whole arc and wondered why I would even start down the path.
Table saws are very good at cutting - like… they're super good at it, and generally they don't really care what they cut. Eventually it was decided that it would be a good idea for table saws to not merely feature a convenient bin to collect the severed limbs. In an effort to make such saws dismember people without the same enthusiasm or frequency, there are modern versions that drop the entire sawblade and its attendant manifold straight down if it comes in contact with flesh. Indeed, it does this so quickly that you only sustain a scratch - if that. That's essentially what my mind did: the whole apparatus that would have been locked into that cycle just fell straight down, out of my head, and into the floor.
This very afternoon, from 3-5pm PST, The Notorious EJB and I will be joined by on stream by Green Ronin's Chris Pramas to learn our way around the Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game, which is a personal favorite of his. I avoided it for a while because I assumed, wholly without evidence, that it was a licensed reskin because that's how things like this would generally go. What it is in truth is a strangely intimate wargame that wants the field to be a place where strange little stories occur. I'm pretty cranked up. Thanks so much to Games Workshop for the cool toys, and opportunity to introduce them to you.
We've got a full week of #sponsored streams with incredible games and guests. Today, we've got the first of three Middle-Earth: #BattleofOsgiliath streams! Join us on Twitch from 2-5pm PT for terrain painting! #WarhammerCommunity #MESBG #ad pic.twitter.com/3stFV7HXgE

Today we're gonna go slow and try to get our heads around it, and then tomorrow at the exact same time - December 20th, at 3-5pm PST - we're gonna get into a crazier scenario and see how things shake out. Orcs! Men of Minas Tirith! Rangers! A chance for Faramir to prove his worth! We're doing all that stuff. Stop by!
(CW)TB out.
